Jean, my secretary, has been a little lazy this year. 

But it's time to catch up !

In February and March, we spent some time in Norwich,

 seeing most of the family.

 In April, the school holiday gave us the opportunity 

to have Titi & Laurent's family with us in Perros.

And a week later, Anne & Peter's family 

followed (here in Brehat Island)

In June, we were at Steph & Pat's, with Ionie, 

the newest member of the tribe !

It gave us an opportunity to visit friends 

who live a little further along the coast.

End of June means the end of our schoolyear,

and we attended all the school fetes we  

could. Here in Lévignen, at Laurent's school.

WINTER TOUR IN ENGLAND

We spent a fortnight in Norwich, starting with a very pleasant family gathering for a double birthday !

Then, we had some good time with my brothers and sisters and their families, and cousins too. We managed to go to the coast (Great Yarmouth), but couldn't see the sea for the mist ... Our visit to the Bridewell Museum was an interesting moment and Kett's Heights helped us remember a cruel period of local history.

Finally, we stopped for a few days in Witney, and had a short visit to Woodstock and Oxford, where we had a surprise waiting for us : Anne, Peter and the children on their way to Scotland.

AUTUMN ON THE ROCKS

Cool weather, the odd drop of rain, but a very pleasant fortnight in Perros, with Maryse joining us last week-end (she took this photo). More restaurants tested, more films viewed, and walks along the coast ...

IN FAR WEST BRITTANY

During our family holiday week in Morgat, Finistère, we had a few walks with the children. Here they are, all seven of them !

Joshua, Ronan, India, Zoé, William, Gwendal and Gael.
We visited the peninsula fom one end to the other, and Brest with the tall boats exhibition "Tonnerres de Brest", and Concarneau or more precisely the fortified town in the harbour.

NORFOLK IN MAY ...

 As usual, we spent a few weeks in England last May, and I enjoyed our little trips to the Broads or the seaside near Cromer or Sheringham, with Susan and Jo, or Richard. We also managed to book a holiday house for a week in 2013 on the coast, right on the cliff top ! We ended up in Oxfordshire, at Witney, enjoying a few days with Elaine and Ted.

SPRINGTIME IN PERROS

It can't be compared with the Summer, but we always manage some sunshine everyday. It may not last or come in short spells. No long stays sitting on the beach, but games with the grand-children, playing ball, flying kites, or building sandcastles.

COLMAR IN DECEMBER

An evening in Colmar, walking through one of the various Christmas markets along the river. We had come with Maryse from Belfort, and had a chance to capture the atmosphere of the place, with its decorations, crowded streets, tasty specialities, craft exhibitions, and cheerful cafés ...

AUTUMN IN TRESTRAOU

There's nothing like a week in Perros to store energy for the winter months to come ! We were pleased to have visitors like Pat and Steph and their boys. And the weather was up to our expectations.

THE FOREST

I love driving through the Compiègne forest in the Autumn, and, better, walking about there with the children. This is what we did this week, with Zoé, India, Joshua and William. They jumped on the fallen trunks of freshly cut trees. And we admired the colours of the leaves.

Last Sunday, October 16th, after our meal at the Racecourse, we took the rare opportunity to take a photo of the six of us. A nice day, with good food, family chats, and super weather...

BACK TO THE ROOTS

For the second time this year, we are in Norwich. Which means we'll be able to spend time on the broads or on the coast, but mainly visiting the family. Here in Cromer with Richard.

A starter

This is just going to be the spot where I stick a photo from time to time and ask Jean to write a quick message. Any different from Facebook ? Perhaps not, but on Facebook, things disappear from your screen fast. Here they will stay (perhaps too long).
I'll have a look at the way to enclose a picture, and I'll just do that next time ...
